Alan Elphinstone

Principal Consultant - Metering & Measurement Manager

Alan began his career with Accord-ESL in 2017 and is a Principal Consultant, managing the Measurement side of the business.

Having started his career in Instrumentation and Controls within the power industry, he has gained experience across the oil and gas sector and has spent the last 20 years specialising in the Flow Measurement and Allocation domain, during which time he achieved an MSc in Petroleum Production Engineering; this experience was gained with Chevron Upstream Europe (responsible for Metering and Allocation) and in the service side of the oil and gas industry, providing invaluable experience and understanding as to how the business is structured from production through to sales.

He has a solid engineering background and the knowledge and experience required to achieve high performance in the management of Measurement in the oil and gas industry.  With extensive experience in the management of teams and project delivery – from conceptual design through to commissioning and operation – he is also adept at evaluating and optimising business processes and procedures to maximise efficiencies to further enhance the value of a business.

Alan is a member of the Energy Institute’s Hydrocarbon Measurement Committee (HMC 1) and is always looking to share and develop his learnings with others.
