Accord Gives Back

Accord has been working with the Outward Bound Trust and local schools to sponsor children to attend their residential courses. Outward Bound takes young people away from everyday life, to give them life-changing experiences they won’t get from home or inside the classroom. 

These courses give young people the confidence to tackle the real world head on. Schools identify pupils who would benefit most from the experiences provided. Accord has worked with Mackie Academy and Kemnay Academy to fund places for these pupils to attend the courses.

There has been a remarkable boom in cycling over recent years and the North East of Scotland boasts some truly wonderful cycling experiences. Ride the North is a unique annual event aiming to provide a challenge for cyclists of all abilities. Since 2011, Ride the North and participant cyclists have raised around £2m for local charities. Each year they work with a number of charity partners– all of whom support the communities in which the event takes place. 

For the last 8 years, the Accord team have sweated over all our favourite Aberdeenshire hills (Suie, Cabrach, Bridge of Brown) with sustenance and cheer provided by local community groups along the way. Ride the North is both a celebration of cycling and our local area. We are once again delighted to sponsor the event in 2023.

During the build up to Christmas, members of the Accord team have volunteered their time to The Giving Tree by Instant Neighbour Appeal. This charity works with social work departments and community projects in the local area to support families living in very difficult conditions and to ensure that no child goes without a gift at Christmas. 

As well as collecting gifts for donation, Accord staff give their time to help with the huge logistical task of sorting and distributing the gifts.
