SEPTEMBER 2024
Proud Sponsors of Ride the North 2024

The Accord team were very pleased to support Ride the North 2024 (RtN) — North East Scotland's annual festival of cycling, encouraging everyone to get on their bikes and raise money for a variety of very good causes.
Founded in 2011, with just 37 cyclists, over the next decade it has steadily grown in prominence, scale and popularity — with approximately 1800 riders joining this year's event.

RtN is a supported ride — with mechanical support, support vehicles, signposting, lunches, mobile coffee stops, refreshments and plenty of encouragement from spectators and fellow cyclists.
Taking place for the first time in the beautiful rolling hills of Angus — starting and finishing in Arbroath — RtN 2024 had four distances to choose from:
- 70 miles
- 83 miles
- 88 miles
- 100 miles
For the tenth year running, Accord was delighted to enter a team into this fantastic event. James, Dave, Rebecca, Euain, Darius and Ralph were joined by family and friends to form a team of around 15 — which also included some RtN first-timers.

It's safe to say that a warm welcome was enjoyed by all along the route, in every local community we visited, including Letham, Kirrie, Memus, Menmuir, Edzell, Brechin and Lunan Bay.
Particularly memorable were the cowbells (organised by North East Scotland charity Friends of ANCHOR) in Brechin and the famous Bridies of Forfar — both of which gave our cyclists great energy to keep pedalling.
As for the weather, conditions were mixed — with some heavy rain, road flooding and a rather nasty headwind for the final 7 miles; but also some sustained spells of glorious sunshine — and the support and encouragement from spectators, fellow participants and local communities made all the difference.

The entire Accord team was delighted to support an event that raises money for so many good causes and local groups. We've participated since 2014, and we're looking forward to joining Ride the North 2025 next year.
