The Metering and Allocation Working Group of Australia met in person for the first time since 2019 on Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th September. Inpex kindly provided the venue in their Perth office and two Accord presentations were selected for the event. On the Thursday, Zakiah presented on the features of allocation systems incorporating long pipelines - the maths doesn’t cancel out as you might expect especially at a component level. Amy was the final speaker of the event and covered how to calculate methane and CO2e emissions from the flare systems – spoiler alert – you can achieve better than 98% combustion efficiency.

Next year’s event will be held in Sydney where we hope to meet our fellow members of MAWG once more to discuss the metering and allocation issues facing Operators in Australia.

The presentations can be viewed below.
