Juan Martín Rodríguez and Bob Peebles presented at the Measurement Focus Group September 2025 Meeting, hosted by TÜV SÜD in London.  Their presentation on “Calculating Flare Gas Composition and Destruction Efficiency with CHARM/Combustor" showcased current Combustor focus areas:
- Calculating flare gas composition through the production process up to the flare tip using the CHARM Combustor application
- Identifying and correcting for unmetered gas flows using speed of sound comparisons between predicted and measured values
- Applying data reconciliation methods to refine flare gas composition predictions and improve measurement integrity
- Collaborating with Greens Combustion Limited to develop a destruction efficiency function that complements the University of Alberta combustion efficiency algorithm.
