Accord were delighted to be a sponsor for this year’s Ride the North event — celebrating cycling in the North East of Scotland and raising money for many local community groups and charities. We have submitted a team every year since 2014 and this year was no exception, with our team choosing between 77 mile and 100 mile options.
With a very wet forecast, there was some concern about a soggy day of cycling but actually it was mostly dry and, as ever, Ride the North showcased some of the best scenery across Aberdeenshire visiting Huntly, Rhynie, Dufftown, Keith and Foggie.
As always, the local communities provided snacks, lunches and entertainment for the 1400 cyclists passing through. Our own Allan Wilson, was part of the brass brand welcoming the riders into Rhynie. We even sampled a wee whisky at the anCnoc distillery to help with the final 12 miles.
A fantastic day of sociable cycling all round and a very well-organised community cycle event.
