Accord Shines a Light on Turriff RFC

Turriff RFC is a club in its infancy, formed in 2019, with a primary aspiration to raise awareness in the community, provide an opportunity for all to try rugby, and join the club on its rugby journey.

There are players as young as ten years old, through to — as one Caithness reporter put it — “ an octogenarian at 10” (bonus points if you can work out who that may be!)

Training is what brings improvement to the team, and through the summer months, with the long nights and fine weather, it is simple to organise and make happen — but when the nights get shorter, the club needs light.

This is where Accord took the opportunity to support the club by providing a donation that allowed the purchase of portable floodlights — allowing training to continue during the winter months and offering the community of Turriff access to rugby, all year round.

The benefits are endless, but to quote one of the younger playing members of the club:
“It’ll be a real improvement because we won’t need to always have our phones on torch mode!”
